Dear Neighbor,
Did you know that this week is National Child Passenger Safety Week?
I'm proud to support the advocacy campaign that's raising awareness about this important issue and I could use your help.
Statistics
show that motor vehicles are the leading cause of injury or death for
children between the ages of 5 and 9. In 2010, over 8,000 of Ohio's
children were injured as a result of motor vehicle crashes. And
education is the one of the best tools to keep our lids safe.
So, what can you do to help?
Please
take a moment this week to check your kid's car seats and make sure
they are properly installed. Remind a family member or a friend about
the importance of using booster seats and seat belts to keep their kids
safe. And always buckle up. Modeling good habits is one of the best
thing you can do to keep your family safe.
You can also get safety tips and the latest recall information at: http://SaferCar.gov/therightseat.
Thanks for your help raising awareness about this important issue.
Warm personal regards,
Shannon Jones
Representing Ohio's 7th District
